Doyle Sims

Doyle Sims, 82, of McGehee, Arkansas passed away Monday, February 8, 2016 in Little Rock, Ark. He was born on May 3, 1933 in Scott County, Arkansas to the late Arthur and Zula Jones Sims. Doyle served in the Korean War. He was a lifelong farmer. Doyle served on the Riceland Food Board and Delta PCA. He loved to hunt and fish. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Frances Maddox Sims; brothers, Burl Sims and A.G. Sims; son-in-law, Jim Gorrell. Survivors include his son, Brad Sims and his wife, Stella of McGehee, Ark.; daughters, Nena Sims Gorrell of Columbus, MS and Connie Sims Moss of McGehee, Ark.; brothers, Drew Sims of McGehee, Ark. and Norris Sims of McGehee, Ark.; sisters, Eva Polk of Monticello, Ark., Becky Conliff of Monticello, Ark., and Rosa Lee Reynolds of Jackson, Miss.; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Visitation will be held at 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service in McGehee, Ark. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at Tillar Cemetery in Tillar, Ark. with Dr. Ed Balducci officiating. Burial will be at Tillar Cemetery in Tillar, Ark.
