James Steven Wanasek

Steve Wanasek died Sunday, February 7, 2016 at the Earlene Howard Hospice Home in Springdale. He was born March 26, 1940 in Hutchinson, Kansas to Lora Isobel Stevens and James Key McGonigle. He was a retired pilot, having owned Wanasek Aerial Spraying in Caldwell, Kansas as well as flying corporately and charter. He was predeceased by his parents and his stepfather Carl Wanasek. Survivors include wife, Sandra of the home; son, Scott (Jill Brown) Wanasek of Rogers, daughter, Aimee (Destry) Forcum of Kingman, Kansas, daughter, Amy (Richard) Fourt of Rogers, and son, Daniel (Ashley Stephens) Lawson of Warrensburg, Missouri; grandchildren, Natalee and Alec Wanasek, Gunner and Gabriella Forcum, Drew Rogers, Madeline Fourt, Emma Lawson, Valarie and Brandon Fenton and Sarah Fourt; a sister, Carla (A.J.) Feldman of Topeka, Kansas and niece Rachel (Seth) Katz of Kansas City. He requested there be no memorial service. Visitation will be Saturday, Feb. 13, 1-3 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 307 W. Elm St., Rogers. Memorial gifts may be made to Circle of Life Hospice. Cremation by Epting Funeral Service.
