Allan Wayne Parse, 75, of Little Rock passed away on Sunday, February 7, at CHI St. Vincent Hospital. He was born on July 27, 1940, in Tulsa, Okla. He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin W. and Audrey Reeg Parse, in-laws, Brad and Rachel Scott, brothers, Melvin (Bill) Parse and R.G. (Bob) Parse, sisters-in-law, Jan Parse and Helen Scott Manville, and nephew Robert Parse Jr. Survivors include: his loving and supportive wife of 53 1/2 years, Mary Agnes (Aggie) Scott Parse; nieces Molly McDuffie and husband Dr. Scott McDuffie, Diana Ball and husband Tim, and Patty Parse ; nephews Scott Manville and wife Karen and Douglas Parse and wife Robin; brother-in-law, James Manville; sister-in-law, Gloria Parse; great-nephews, Drew and Parker McDuffie, James Manville, and Nathan and Caleb Parse; great-nieces, Kate Manville and Alisha, Brinna and Cerina Ball; special friends, Bob and Denise Dreyling and Cindy Grisham; and his Shihtzu Tiffany. Allan graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Arkansas where he was an outstanding student. He was a member of Tau Beta Pi and also a member of the Pi Tau Sigma National Honorary Mechanical Engineering Fraternity. In addition, he was a member of Phi Delta Theta and served as Scholarship Chairman with the highest grade point average in his pledge class. He was also a member of the Towers of Old Main at the University of Arkansas. Allan worked as an engineer for Exxon Co. USA for over 30 years before retiring in 1995. He was proud of his military service as a 1st Lieutenant and engineer and served at three Army bases. He was a member of Highland Valley United Methodist Church, was past president of the Ben Miller Sunday School class, and also was a member of the Brodie Creek Homeowner's Association. Allan loved arrowhead hunting, turkey hunting, and fishing the Ouachita River in Mt. Ida where he and Aggie had a cabin for over 30 years. Allan and Aggie loved their many trips to Mexico with their close friends Bob and Denise Dreyling and their cruises with their Sunday School class. Allan will be greatly missed. He was a fun and caring person with a great love for music, which was inherited from his mother. Visitation is planned for Friday, February 12, 2016, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Ruebel Funeral Home at 6313 West Markham, Little Rock.
