Mavis Jordan Mays

Mavis Jordan Mays, 92, of St. Louis, Missouri, died Saturday, February 6, 2016. She was a retired geriatric nurse. She was born in Wattensaw, Arkansas on May 10, 1923, to the late Henry and Willene Hester Jordan. She is survived by her husband, Charlie Mays; two daughters, Beverly Cownover of New Mexico and Jackie Gumbert of California; two sons, Henry "Skippy" Hunter of Texas and Billy Joe Steinmetz of Kansas; ten grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and seventeen great-great-grandchildren; and many cousins and friends from Arkansas. Visitation will be 12 noon to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, February 13, at Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. Graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. Saturday, at Wattensaw Cemetery.
