Ann Klober Wilson, just one day shy of her 89th birthday, long-time Magnolia resident, passed away on Feb. 12, 2016 at the Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock. Surrounded by her loving family, pictures and memories, this true southern belle, southern "lady," in a class by herself, was a friend and mother to everyone she met, a consummate offering to others, forever gracious and a most dedicated matriarch, leaving a legacy of love that will continue to live through her spirit for generations to come. Born to Joe and Elvenia Klober of Dardanelle, Ark., on Feb. 13, 1927, Ann moved to Magnolia in 1951 to begin her teaching career in the Magnolia Public School System. It was there Ann met her future daughter, Sue who had a funny feeling her father might just "appreciate" the tall, dark-haired beauty… and the rest was history. Ann met, fell in love and married the man of her dreams, Halmon Wilson and nine months later Kathy was born. Ann was a loving wife, mother and an inspiration to her growing family, her friends, even strangers who had the good fortune of meeting her. Ann is preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Halmon and one sister, Frances Balloun of Dardanelle. She is survived by her two daughters, Kathryn Jane Wilson and Sue Wilson (Mrs. Michael) Fess of Little Rock, four grandchildren: Greg and wife Judi of Little Rock, Michael and wife Layne of Orlando, Fla., Chris and wife Martha of Dallas, Texas and Stephanie Tharp also of Orlando. As much as Ann loved her grandchildren, she literally sparkled when thinking of her great-grandchildren: Kristen Fess of Brooklyn, N.Y., Sarah and husband Tanner McGinty of Fayetteville, Ark., Rebekah and husband Lucas Cooper, also of Fayetteville, Hall Fess of Mariana, Ark., Lauren and Noah Fess, all of Dallas, Emily and Wilson Tharp of Fayetteville, Ark., Claire Tharp of Denver, Colo. and Lily, Michael, Sander and Kate Fess, all of Orlando. Ann was also loved and cherished by countless other friends and acquaintances, literally anyone who had the pleasure of being in her company! A dedicated member of Asbury Methodist Church, Ann chaired every committee at one time or another, providing meals and support for others in time of need and seldom leaving that "second-pew-from-the-front" vacant. She was a community leader, avid golfer, tireless worker and always filled a room with a spirit of joy and happiness. She will long be remembered for her pound cakes, her homemade bread, her gestures of kindness and that beautiful smile. Visitation will be Sunday at Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. in Magnolia, from 5-7 p.m. Funeral services will be at Asbury United Methodist Church on Monday at 2 p.m. with burial following in Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Asbury United Methodist Church or the charity of one's choice.
