BARBARA L. SHERMAN passed into the arms of the Lord on Wednesday evening, Feb. 10, 2016 with loved ones by her side. She was born June 27, 1926 in Dayton, Ohio. Barbara is survived by her daughter, Linda (Dale) DeMent, her son, John Robert (Marylin) Riepenhoff, five grandchildren: Shelley (Josh) Minton, Scott (Cereida) DeMent, Rob, Maribeth and Rebecca Riepenhoff, six great grandchildren: Nathaniel, Cole and Charlotte Belle Minton, Evelyn, Mason and Naomi DeMent, her brother, Donald Sherman and three nephews: Michael, Tim and Pat Sherman. Barbara will be remembered for her love and gentle caring ways to all of her family and a host of friends. She loved to sing along with the great era of big band music. She loved to do craft projects for all of her family to have as remembrances. She spent her last 27 years with her Arkansas family enjoying her church family at Park Hill Christian Church and served as a volunteer for Baptist Health Hospital for 15 years. The family is grateful to all of the staff at Robinson Nursing and Rehabilitation Center during her last five years of life. Also the family thanks all of the support team at Gentiva Hospice for caring for her during her last days. All of these folks have been a blessing to our family.
