Erma Lou Henderson

Erma Lou Henderson, 78, of Russellville, Ark. and the matriarch of the Henderson family, went to her heavenly home on Thursday, Feb. 11, 2016. The daughter of William and Alma (Hosey) Roberts, she was born Sept. 21, 1937 in Murfreesboro, Ark. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Vernon Roberts; a sister-in-law, Faye Roberts; and two precious grandsons, Brandon Mabry and Josh Henderson. She was a graduate of Murfreesboro High School and Bob Jones University, where she earned a degree in Christian education. She was the co-founder of Henderson Specialties, Inc. She took great pleasure in helping care for her great-grandchildren who were her pride and joy. Erma was a long standing member of Second Baptist Church of Russellville, where she was a Sunday school teacher for over 30 years. She volunteered with the Christian Women's Job Corp, Women on Missions and UCT. She was a proud member of the Knottie Hat Girls, a chapter of the Red Hats Society. Erma enjoyed taking trips with the Young at Hearts, a senior citizen church group and looked forward every year to teaching the two-year-old class in Vacation Bible School. Her greatest accomplishment in life was her family. Erma is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Marvin and Martha Henderson of Scottsville, Ark.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kelly and Barbara Mabry and Pete and Cindy Mathews, both of Russellville; grandchildren: Vanessa Lambert of Pottsville, Brittany and Jeremy Myers of Hector, Kara and Jonathan Asner of Pottsville, Jessica Mabry of Rogers and Fiancé, Michael Elrod, Matthew, Micheal, PJ Henderson of Scottsville, Samantha and Shawn Matthews of Lake City, Shiann and Eric Bradley of Enterprise, Ala. and Garrett Ryals of Scottsville; great-grandchildren: Hailey Lambert, Jason and Jasper Asner, Mylah, Emalyn and Hazyl Myers, Sara and Issac Nunnely, Laurel and Lawson Bradley; and two granddogs, Alvin and Fitz. Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2016 at Second Baptist Church in Russellville. Pastor Robin Foster will officiate. Burial will be at Rest Haven Memorial Park in Russellville, Ark. by Humphrey Funeral Service. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Pallbearers are Kelly Mabry, Jonathan Asner, Michael Elrod, John Sechrest, Michael Henderson, Matthew Henderson and Steve Gist. Memorials may be made to Arkansas Hospice, 2405 E.
