Robert "Bob" D. Wylie

Robert "Bob" D. Wylie, 87, of Camden, Ark. died on Feb. 13, 2016 at Ouachita County Medical Center. He was surrounded by his family at his passing. He was born in Carthage, Ark. on May 26, 1928 to DeKalb and Pearl Starks Wylie. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Florence Smith, Peg Kirby and Mary Ruth Fry; brother, R. L. "Liv" Wylie; and infant son, Jeffery Carroll Wylie. He was the loving husband of Martha V. Walker Wylie of 67 years. He is survived by his wife; son, Gordon Wylie (Mary) of Camden; daughters, Janell Vestal (Benny) of El Dorado, and Carrol Ann Selph (Robby) of Texarkana; grandchildren, Michael Wylie (Tarah), Richard Wylie (Julie), Stephen Vestal (Jennifer), Meredith Brooks (Ben), Drew Selph, and Trey Selph (Jessica), and brother, Murry Wylie of Carthage, Ark. He also had six great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and friends. He worked for Southern Pulpwood for 30 years retiring in 1982. He loved to fish and taught his kids and grandkids the love of fishing. He enjoyed turkey, bird and coon hunting with his brother, Liv and son. He was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church, active in the Methodist Men and Men's Sunday School Class. The family would like to thank the sitters who helped take care of our husband and father, Brenda Carver, Susan Teague, Mary Williams, Yvette Elliott and Ellen Lowe as well as the nurses in ICU. The family has requested in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Fairview United Methodist Church or the charity of your choice. Visitation will be Sunday, Feb. 14, 2016 from 3-5 at the funeral home. Services will be at Fairview United Methodist Church on Monday, Feb. 15, 2016 at 1 p.m. Interment to follow at Hampton Springs Cemetery located in Carthage, Ark. Rev.
