Sergeant Donald R. Gwin (Retired US army) was born February 22, 1935. He was the son of the late Elton and Arnie Pippin Gwin of Little Rock. He passed away February 14, 2016 at home with his family. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Gene Gwin and a sister-in-Law, Dorothy Gwin of Maryland, a grandson, Gabriel Homsley, granddaughter, KymBerly Hardin and great-grandson, Jesse Lane Evans. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Tommye Harmon (Evans) Gwin, a son, Donald Jr (Ramona) of Stafford, Virginia and a daughter, Elizabeth Homsley of Judsonia, four stepsons, Randall, Craig and Bobby Evans of Greenbrier and Todd Evans of Morgan, one step-daughter, Pam Hensley (Terry) of Mayflower, 25 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. He graduated from Dewitt High School and attended Ouachita Baptist College. He retired from the Army and the U.S. Post office. Donald was a member of the Mayflower Church of Christ, an avid bowler and volunteered for fifteen years at the woodshop at V.A. Fort Roots. Funeral service will be at 1 pm Thursday February 18 at Roller McNutt Chapel in Conway, with family visitation to be one hour before the Funeral. Jack Shock, Minister of Mayflower Church of Christ will conduct the service. Interment will be at Martinville Cemetery in Damascus. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Michael Coulson, Andrew Homsley, Joe Evans, Blane Bartlett, Todd Evans II and Tyler Hardin.
