Eldin K. Hodges

Rev. Eldin K. Hodges, age 95, went to be with the Lord February 13, 2016. Born September 1, 1920, son of the late William J. and Susan Bettis Hodges. He was a WWII US Army Veteran and a retired General Baptist Minister. He was called to the Ministry in the late 1950s serving churches in the state of Arkansas, Osceola, Indiana and Moweaque, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his wife, Naomi and son Eddie, brothers, William, Earl, Loy and Winfred, sisters, Beulah Kellt and Jewell Pike. He is survived by his son, Jackie Hodges (Marilyn) of North Little Rock, daughter, Sharon Schachlin (David) of Sherwood, daughter-in-law, Patsy Hodges of Quitman, sisters, Dean Phillips and Jessie McNair, grandchildren, Mark Hodges, Wendy Armstrong, John Pat Hodges and Lauralise Hodges and 10 great-grandchildren. Visitation for family and friends will be 3-5 p.m. Saturday, February 20th at Olmstead Funeral Home with funeral services at 2 p.m. Sunday at Howard General Baptist Church where he had been a long time member with Rev. Terry Mote and James Edwin Pike officiating. Interment with military honors will be held at Center Point Cemetery.
