Peggy M Logan

Peggy M. Logan of Heber Springs died Wednesday, February 17, in a Hot Springs nursing home just a little more than a week short of her 89th birthday. Born February 26, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Clint R. Mahon and Ruby P. (Bittle) Mahon. A resident of Heber Springs almost her entire life, she was retired from the Farmer's Home Administration. Mrs. Logan joined First United Methodist Church in 1946 and has been active in Sunday School, Chancel Choir, and many other programs of the church, including several years in the 1960's when she was employed as church secretary. A fervent believer in education, she was active in the campaign to bring a branch of Arkansas State University-Beebe to Heber Springs and served on the college's Advisory Committee for several years. Mrs. Logan was preceded in death by her husband, Wilford C. Logan, who died in 1994. Survivors include one son, Paul W. Logan, and his wife, Brenda, of Hot Springs; three grandsons, Nikolas A. Logan of Hot Springs, Clint E. Logan of Hot Springs and his wife Alisha, and Daniel A. Logan and his wife Miriam of LaVergne, Tenn. Also surviving are two great-granddaughters, Aurelia Logan of Hot Springs and Daniella Logan of Lavergne, Tenn. and two step great-grandsons, Alfredo Salazar and Steven Jaime of Lavergne, Tenn. She is also survived by a sister, Jeannette Davis and her husband, Ancil Lee Davis, of Heber Springs and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. Sunday at Olmstead Funeral Home with funeral services being held at 10 a.m. Monday at the First United Methodist Church. Pallbearers are members of the Chancel Choir. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to First United Methodist Church or the General Scholarship Fund at ASU—Heber Springs. www.olmstead.cc.
