She was a faithful member of Gospel Light Baptist Church. She cleaned the church for years, taught Sunday School, worked the food room, and served the "best snacks" during Bible School. Home and family were everything to Anita. She and her husband traveled the world during his 20 years in the Army. Before being deployed to Vietnam the last two years of service, Sgt. Kitchens bought Anita a home to at the end of a little country road. With the help of her four children, she completely remodeled the little white house where she would see all her children grow up and would one day be the gathering place for family and friends. There aren't enough words to sum up the life of this precious woman other than to say she was loved by those who called her Dearest Darling, Momma, Mamoa, Grandma, Aunt Sally, Sister, and Miss Anit guest booka.
