Carl L. Raney Sr.

Carl L. Raney Sr., 71, of El Dorado, passed away Sunday, December 20, 2015, at St. Vincent Infirmary in Little Rock, Ark. He was born November 2, 1944, to Robert Lee and Verda Bradley Raney in Cabot, Ark. He was an underground cable splicer for Arkansas Power and Light for 35 years before his retirement. Carl was a member of the International Brothers of Electrical Workers, and was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending summers in Pagosa Springs, Colo. and also elk hunted there. Preceding him in death are his parents; three sisters; three brothers; and a daughter, Tammy Raney. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Carolyn Howell Raney; daughter, Melinda Raney; son, Lloyd Raney Jr. all of El Dorado; brother, Herschel D. Raney (Pat) of Sherwood; and sister-in-law, Linda Johnson (Freddie) of Springfield, Ark. A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, January 9, 2016, at Young's Chapel with Rev. Sye Duke officiating.
