Virgie Pearl Long

Virgie Pearl Dempsey Long, age 81, of Casa, Arkansas, went to see her Lord on Monday January 4, 2016. She was born March 4, 1934 in Shawnee, Oklahoma, a daughter of Chesley and Allie Mae Dempsey. She was a dedicated house wife until her children were grown. She began working at Camp Mitchell worked there for several years then went to Casa School working in the cafeteria until she retired. She was a member of Welcome Home Missionary Baptist Church. Virgie loved the Lord and her church; she was always concerned about every one's salvation. She loved her family with all her heart and the grandchildren were the love of her life. She was a very loving wife, mom, granny, and aunt that will be greatly missed. She is survived by her son, Gary Long of Casa; daughter, Brenda (Danny) Robertson of Homewood; four grandchildren, John, April, Jenna and Austin; three great grandchildren and one on the way, McKinley, Ayden and Colton. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Cecil Long and brother, James Dempsey. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, January 8, at Welcome Home Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. C.W. Drye officiating. Burial will be at Hamilton Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home.
