John D. Waldrip Jr, Died on Jan. 8, 2016. He was born Dec. 28, 1940 in Little Rock, Ark. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Marjorie Waldrip. Johnny graduated in 1958 from Batesville High School and Arkansas State Teacher College in 1962, where he was a four year letterman for the Bears Football team. After graduation from college, Johnny faithfully served his country in the Army. During his military service, he fought to defend his county on the foreign soils of Korea, Cambodia, and Vietnam. Captain Waldrip was honorably discharged at Fort Bragg, N.C. in 1973. Most recently, he retired as an agent with the US Customs Service, where he continued to serve to "protect his Country". Survived by his wife, Peggy Carpenter, of 28 years, four sons, John Waldrip III, Scot (Cass), Richard (Van), and Stuart (Deecia) Carpenter, one Daughter, Cheri (Kirk) Armitage. Also survived by seven grandchildren, Tamara, Nathan, Dustin (Julian), Dillon, Mackenzie, Jordan Carpenter, Madyson Armitage, and four great-grandchildren, and numerous family and friends.
