Norma Jean Edwards Sledge

Norma Jean Edwards Sledge, 84, of Perryville passed from this life on Saturday, Jan. 16, 2016. She was born on Oct. 29, 1931 in Springfield, Ark. to the late Homer and Madline Crye Edwards. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Loyd Sledge; and two brothers, Jimmy and Frankie Edwards. Norma loved to cook. She worked as a cook for Perryville Nursing and Rehabilitation since the time they opened until she retired when she was 72 years old. She is survived by one son, Tony Sweeden (Debbie) of Conway; two daughters, Diana Hertzell (Jim) of Perryville and Renee Sowell of Maryland; and five grandchildren. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2016 at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway. Interment to follow at Perry Cemetery in Perry, Ark.
