James A. (Jim) Bloodworth passed away peacefully on Jan. 16, 2016 at his home in Conway, Ark. Jim was born Sept. 29, 1939 in Judsonia, Ark. to the late Arthur and Elizabeth Bloodworth. Jim grew up in Searcy and graduated from Searcy High School in 1957. He spent extended time on active duty while a member of the Arkansas Air National Guard 154th weather flight from 1958 thru 1964. In 1960 he met and married his soul mate and the love of his life, Mary Ann Boswell. They were married on Christmas Eve, 1960. After marrying, Jim and Mary Ann lived in Little Rock and Forrest City before moving to Camden in 1963 where they raised their three children–Dawn, Dan and Sam. To say that Jim loved his wife and children is an understatement. Along with his dear friends, they were his world. Jim was preceded in death by his mother, father and an infant brother Jackie Ray Bloodworth. Jim is survived by his loving wife Mary Ann, daughter Dawn (Joe), and sons Dan (Dana) and Sam. Jim and Mary Ann have 10 grandchildren-Amanda Atkins, Allie Matlock, Niki Esser, Trent Esser, Cortney McMoran (Aaron), Kyle Bloodworth (Alison), Whitney Bloodworth, Anna Bloodworth, Addie Bloodworth and Dalton Bloodworth. Jim is also survived by his sister Ramona Callaway (Cecil) and brother Terry Bloodworth (Julie). Jim retired as president and general manager of Mosley Candy and Tobacco Company in 2005, and he and Mary Ann moved to Conway to be nearer their children and grandchildren. While in Camden, Jim served as a director of the Camden Boys and Girls Club, First Bank and the Camden Country Club. He served several terms as president of the Camden Country Club and was honored with a lifetime membership by the Club when he moved to Conway. He dearly loved the Club and his many golfing friends. Throughout Jim's lifetime, he enjoyed many friendships–two of his dearest were Dick Mosley and Tommy Green. At his request, Jim will be cremated and his remains buried with Mary Ann at the time of her death. A memorial service will held at Proctor Funeral Home in Camden, Ark. on Saturday, Jan. 23, 2016 at 2 p.m. Friends are invited to visit with family at Proctor Funeral Home at 1 p.m. prior to the memorial service.
