Michael Allen (Mickey) Patrick was born April 16, 1944, passed away January 17, 2016. He was predeceased by his parents, Alfred Allen Patrick and Ruth Carol Wilber Patrick, one brother, Harvey Patrick of Lawton, Okla., and one sister, Ellen Patrick Thieme of Sunnyvale, Calif. Mickey was also predeceased by his stepmother, Naomi Orren Garner Patrick, step-brothers, Huey Garner, L.D. (Shorty) Garner and Jerry Garner. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Daris Corrine Jackson Patrick, two children, Audrey Suzanne Patrick Wilson of Cabot, Ark., and Andrew Allen Patrick and Robin of Texarkana, Ark., one brother, Robert J. (Bill) Patrick of Wichita Falls, Texas and one sister, Grace Patrick of Santa Clara, Calif., and brother-in-law, Jim Thieme of Sunnyvale, Calif., stepbrother, Michael Roy Garner and Connie of North Little Rock, Ark., three grandchildren, Wyatt Austin Wilson of Cabot, Ark., Adan-Wade Allen Patrick and Kaden Price Patrick of Texarkana, Ark. He is also survived by a host of other family and friends. Mickey proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, 82nd Airborne Division, stationed in Fort Bragg, NC and was deployed to the Dominican Republic during the Vietnam conflict. Mickey worked various jobs before hiring on with Missouri Pacific Railroad in 1974. He retired from Union Pacific Railroad after thirty years as a locomotive engineer. Mickey's favorite past time was hunting arrowheads with his wife, Darcie. He would often ask those he knew if they could tell him the location of a clear cut of timber. Mickey loved to talk, telling stories and jokes. He also liked to visit Arkadelphia where he attended Henderson College. He liked showing his wife the many places he lived while attending college. If Mickey knew a funny story or event about someone or himself in the past, he did not mind sharing and laughing until there were tears in his eyes. Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 19, 2016 between the hours of 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. at Herndon-Pharr Funeral Home Chapel. Service will be held Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at 10 a.m. with military honors in the Herndon-Pharr Funeral Home Chapel, Hope, Arkansas with Bro. Joe Miller and Bro. Gary Riley officiating.
