Carl Thomas Scruggs, 90, of Scott was called home on January 17, 2016. Born October 14, 1925 in Scott, Ark., a son of the late Lonnie and Eura Tull Scruggs. He was retired from Big Rock Stone Material Company as a welder fabricator, and a small business owner. He owned several car lots, grocery stores, and an upholstery shop. He was a member of Scott United Pentecostal Church and lifelong farmer. Carl's zeal for life, a smile that would light up a room, and his heart for people, made up his dynamic personality that touched everyone he met. He loved to play dominos and cut grass. Carl is preceded in death by Evelyn Elkins, Margaret Adams, and Twila Bowlan. He is Survived by his wife of 34 years Mary Thirion Scruggs, daughters Patricia Douglas, Bonnie Detherow, and April Kumpe, sons Larry (Martha) Scruggs, and Thomas (Heather) Scruggs, brother Ray Scruggs all of Scott, 14 grandkids, 14 great-grandkids, three great-great-grandkids and numerous nieces and nephews. A special thank you to Mary and Heather of Hospice Home Care. Visitation will be held Friday January 22, 2016 from 5-8 p.m. at Wilson Robison Funeral Home in England. Services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday January 23, 2016 at Scott United Pentecostal Church. Interment to follow at Scruggs Cemetery in England.
