Edmond Mark Hayes

Edmond Mark Hayes, age 95, died January 22, 2016 at Circle of Life Hospice, Bentonville, Arkansas. He was born, February 6, 1920 in Rice Lake, Wisconsin to Mark and Theresa (Kaltenbruner) Hayes. He served in the US Army in the Pacific theater in World War II and in Korea. After 20 years military service he returned to Hudson in 1959 to raise his family. He completed bachelors and master's degrees and spent 24 years in the field of education retiring as director of financial aid at his alma mater UW-River Falls. He held life memberships in the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Scottish Rite Consistory. He moved to Bella Vista, Arkansas in 1988 and was active in several volunteer activities. He was preceded in death by his first wife Elma Chappelle Hayes, daughter-in-law Lin Hayes, his parents and siblings. Survivors include his wife, Janet Emery Hayes of Bentonville, Arkansas; a son, Brian of Roseburg Oregon, daughter, Linda (Pat) Rawlings of Hudson, Wisconsin and daughter, Karen (Charles) Brophy of Dallas, Texas; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; step-daughters, Mary Lou (Jim) Emery Anderson and Beth (Ray) Emery Anderson. Burial will be at Willow River Cemetery in Hudson, Wisconsin. Memorials may be made to the Bella Vista Public Library. Arrangements are entrusted to Bella Vista Funeral Home & Crematory.
