John William (J.W., Jay) Bradley

John William "J.W., Jay" Bradley, 89, of North Little Rock passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2016, in Austin, Texas. He was born in Little Rock, to Edward Orlan Bradley Sr. and Mallie Lee Haddock Bradley. He is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Carmack Bradley, his parents, and his brother Edward Orlan Bradley Jr. He was a World War II veteran and retired as a Master Sergeant with 25 years of service in the US Army & Army Reserve. As a child and youth he sold newspapers for the Arkansas Gazette for 11 years. He worked as an insurance agent for over 55 years – first for E. A. Ostergaard and Associates and then for his own business, Jay Bradley Agency. He is a past president of both the Little Rock Association of Life Underwriters and the Arkansas State Association of Life Underwriters. He was a member of Central Baptist Church in Little Rock from childhood to 1983 and a member of Central Baptist Church in North Little Rock from 1984 until his death. He was a caring, supportive, and trustworthy husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother. He will be missed by all that knew him. He is survived by his daughter, Karen Sue Wagner and son-in-law Bruce of Austin, Texas; two grandchildren, Laura and Janet Wagner; and a host of family and friends. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 24, 2015 from 6-8 p.m. at Roller-Owens Funeral Home, 5509 John F. Kennedy Blvd., North Little Rock, Ark. 72116 (501)791-7400. Funeral service will be on Monday, January 25, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Roller-Owens Funeral Home, with Pastor Wyman Richardson officiating. Interment will follow at Edgewood Memorial Park.
