Virginia Beth Barnett Leigh, 77, of Hamburg, went to be with her Lord, Thursday, January 21, 2016 at her residence. Mrs. Leigh was a native and life long resident of Hamburg and she graduated from Hamburg High School in 1956. She was a homemaker and the Produce Manager for Kroger for many years. She was a member of the Calvary Missionary Baptist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher, Awana leader and willingly served wherever there was a need. What an everlasting gift she left us all and we will forever be grateful to have had her in our lives. She is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Kenneth Lane Leigh, Sr., in 2013; her parents, Causby Jack and Bertie Mae Giles Barnett; three sisters, Barbara Courson, Julia Pruitt and her twin, Alice Barnett Leigh and a brother, Willard Fay Barnett. She is survived by a son, Kenneth Leigh Jr. and wife, Wanda, of Hamburg; a daughter, Anita Carle and husband, Leonard of Hope; a brother, Gerald Barnett and wife, Joy of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Kenton Leigh of Little Rock, Matthew Leigh of Hamburg and Wayne Smith and wife, Emily, of Fort Worth, Texas and one great-grandson, Eli Smith. Funeral services are 10 a.m., Saturday, January 23, 2016 in the chapel of Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home with Bro. Joel Meredith and Bro. Jerry Carter officiating. Burial will be in the Unity Cemetery. Pallbearers are Ronnie Nelms, Teddy Hickman, Herbert Wallace, Andrew Wallace, Levi Gray and Lee Thornhill. Memorials may be made to Calvary Missionary Baptist Church Building Fund, 400 West Washington Street, Hamburg, Ark. 71646.
