Eva Turrentine

Eva Elizabeth "Betty" Turrentine, age 97, of Fayetteville passed away Friday Jan. 22, 2016. She was born May 25, 1918 in Fayetteville, Ark. to William and Lucy Stuart Burson. She was a member of Center Street Church of Christ in Fayetteville. She and her husband William "Bill" Turrentine operated the Haberton Childrens Home fostering and caring for children. In her later years she and her husband also operated the original Sonora Store. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, Eileen Oxford, Mildred Nixon; four brothers, Claude Burson, Roy Burson, Gene Burson and Kermit Burson. She is survived by three daughters, Anita Blanton and her husband Michael of Fayetteville, Ark.; Lucy McCauley and her husband Terry of Rogers, Ark.; Margaret Turrentine of Little Rock, Ark.; nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one honorary grandchild. Visitation will be 9 a.m.-10 a.m. Wednesday Jan. 27, 2016 at Center Street Church of Christ. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Center Street Church of Christ with a committal service 2 p.m. at Sons Chapel in Fayetteville under the direction of Moore's Chapel in Fayetteville.
