Maxine Price-Alessi

Maxine Y. Price-Alessi of Little Rock, Ark., was born December 2, 1946 to the late James and Estella Price, Sis. Maxine Price departed this life January 22, 2016. Sis. Price found Christ at an early age, and was a member of St. Andrews African Methodist Episcopal Church. She worked faithfully in the church; singing, teaching, cooking and crafting. She was also a nurse at UAMS for 27 years, meeting and caring for people from around the world. Preceding her in death were two brothers, Bennie and Leatrice Price, and five sisters, Catherine McDonald, Juanita Smith, Gertrude Hampton, Wanda Evans and Lula Reeves. She leaves the following to cherish her memory: her husband, Timothy Alessi; two sons, Kendrick Bledsoe and Kingsley Ehiogu; one granddaughter, Kelsey Bledsoe; one brother, Henry Price; three sisters, LaVerne Abernathy, Mary Cunningham and Ruby (Harvey) Wiley; one very special God-brother, Charles Rodgers, and a host of friends and relatives. A celebration of her life will be Saturday, January 30, 2016, 11 a.m., at St. Andrews AME Church, 3003 Bishop Street, Little Rock, Ark. Interment will follow at Rest In Peace Memorial Gardens, Hensley, Ark. Family hour: Friday, January 29, 2016, 6-7 p.m., at Ruffin & Jarrett Funeral Home, 1200 South Chester St., Little Rock, Ark. (501) 372-1305. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to Union Rescue or Our House.
