William Henry Collison

William Henry Collison, 93, died Wednesday, June 29, 2016. He was born February 26, 1923 in Bald Knob a son of the late Everett and Elsie (Osmon) Collison. Henry operated the Collison Welding Shop for many years and was well known for his fabricating and repair skills. In earlier years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing and always maintained his love for the outdoors and gardening. His love and knowledge of baseball led him to coach in the Little League Baseball Program for a number of years where he worked hard to instill good sportsmanship in many young lives. A civic minded man, Henry served for many years as the Bald Knob Fire Chief and also served as City Inspector. Henry was a fixture at the Market Café where he enjoyed the company of his many friends over a cup of coffee and a good story. He was a member of the Masonic lodge and a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church. Survivors: daughter, Tina Sue Perkins (Tom) of Bald Knob; grandsons, Jon Goad (Ashley) of Lake City and Jason Goad (Andrea) of Harrisburg; great-grandchildren, Jada, Skylar, Jack and Jud; brother, Clarence Collison and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his wife, Verdeal Collison; brothers, Junior Collison and Ray Collison; sister, Irene Rash and a grandson, William Goad. Visitation: Friday, 6-8 p.m. Funeral services: Saturday, July 2, 2016, 2 p.m. at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Derek Collins, Jason Goad and Jon Goad officiating.
