James Wade "Jim" Stuart, 71, passed away Monday, July 4, 2016 at the North Care Hospice House in North Kansas City, Mo. A visitation will be held 4-6 p.m., Monday, July 11, at Rollins Funeral Home in Platte City, Mo.; followed by a 6 p.m. memorial service, at the funeral home. The family suggests contributions be given to the American Cancer Society. Jim was born May 1, 1945 in Magnolia, Arkansas to Rufus Garland and Ferne Marie (Orrick) Stuart. He was raised in Taylor, Ark., where he was a 1963 graduate of Taylor High School, and member of the First Baptist Church of Taylor. Jim was a graduate of Southern State College in Magnolia, Ark., later earning his Master of Business Administration at the University of Arkansas, in Fayetteville. Jim married Gay Louise Morris on March 20, 1971 in Kansas City. He retired as a Vice President for G. E. Capital. Over the years, Jim lived in Maryville, Cape Girardeau, and Plattsburg, Mo., before moving to Kansas City in 1979. He was the founder and first president of the KCI rotary Club in 1974 as well as a board member of the Platte Civic Association. He enjoyed traveling and spending time on the farm. Jim also loved spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by: his parents; his wife of 38 years, Gay; and two brothers Charles Rufus, and William Charles Stuart. Jim is survived by: his son James Stuart II and wife Nikki, of Parkville, Mo.; his daughter Jaime (Mike) Pruitt of Parkville, Mo.; his brothers R.G. Stuart Jr. and wife Treesa of Taylor, Ark.; his sister Mary Helen (George) Grigsby of Monroe, La.; his fiance' Jackie Smith of Lenexa, Kan.; six grandchildren, (and a 7th on the way); and numerous close friends and extended family.
