Norma Ruth Lowry Burkart, 91, formerly of West Fork, Arkansas, was welcomed home by our Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 7, 2016 in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Norma was born November 5, 1924 in Dennison, Illinois. Graveside services will be Tuesday, July 12 at 4 p.m. at Mineral Springs Cemetery, West Fork. Norma was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, one brother, and her husband of 60 years, Walter B. Burkart. She is survived by three children: Karen Shipley and her husband, John, of Amarillo, Texas; Wally Burkart and his wife, Fonda, of Belton, Mo.; and Suzan Burkart of Johnson, Ark.; six grandchildren: Jennifer Mahan and her husband, Troy, of Amarillo, Texas; Jamie Shipley of Amarillo, Texas; Brandi Spangler and her husband, Chris, of Raymore, Mo.; Bud Burkart and his wife, Lindsey, of Raymore, Mo.; Justin Burkart and his wife, Lauren, of New Market, N.H.; and Landon Burkart and his wife, Lara, of Lowell, Ark.; and ten great-grandchildren. Norma worked in the banking industry and was a former dental assistant. She was a loving mother and grandmother, and an avid gardener. The family would like to express their gratitude and appreciation to the CNAs, RNs, and staff for their loving care and support at Fayetteville Health and Rehab.
