Everett Fay Pounds

Everett Fay Pounds, 74, of Hamburg, passed away Friday, July 8, 2016, at his residence peacefully and surrounded by his family. Mr. Pounds was a native of Fountain Hill and a resident of Hamburg for most of his life. He graduated from Hamburg High School in 1959. He was an active member of the Hamburg First United Methodist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, John Everett and Abbie Virginia Golden Pounds; two brothers, Jack and Johnny Ralph Pounds and a sister, Betty Sue Chapman. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary Ellen Chapman Pounds of Hamburg; a son, Mark Pounds and wife, Kim, of Lake Village; two daughters, Michelle Pounds and husband, Hammett Evans, of Bryant and Nancy Jo Pounds of Tulsa, Okla.; two sisters, Gwen Fischer of Hamburg and Frances Gosnell of Garland, Texas; a grandson, Jonathan Pounds and several beloved nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be 2 p.m., Monday, July 11, 2016 at the Hamburg First United Methodist Church with Rev. Greg Comer officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hamburg First United Methodist Church, 202 S. Main Street, Hamburg, Ark. 71646. Arrangements are under the direction of Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home.
