Wanda Silliman Blackwood

Wanda Silliman Blackwood, 78, of El Dorado, passed away Friday, July 8, 2016 at the John R. Williamson Hospice House after a long struggle with Alzheimer's. She was born March 11, 1938 in El Dorado to V.M. "Buddy" and Velma Fletcher Silliman. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Virginia and Frances and brother, Vance. A lifelong resident of El Dorado, she was a long time member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and a devoted member of the choir. Wanda is survived by her husband and best friend of 57 years, Robert Blackwood of El Dorado; daughter, Kelly (Berry) Harrell of Calion, Ark., and son Bob (Lea Ann) Blackwood of El Dorado, Ark. She is also survived by her sister, Melba (Charles) Phillips of Texarkana, Ark., and grandchildren, Macie Blackwood, Allie (Ian) Alspaugh and Austin Harrell along with several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Monday, July 11, 2016 at 10 a.m. in Young's Chapel with Dr. Walter L. "Bubba" Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Arlington Memorial Park under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors. The family will receive friends for visitation on Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at Young's Funeral Directors in El Dorado. Memorials may be made to the John R.
