Wanda Faye Lairy

WANDA FAYE LAIRY, of North Little Rock, Ark., was called home to be with the Lord on July 7, 2016. She was born May 17, 1954, in Jacksonville, Ark. She was a graduate of Jacksonville High School and a nursing graduate of Pulaski Vo-Tech and a master degree graduate of the University of Phoenix in Health Care Administration. Wanda was preceded in death by her mother, Lillie Mae Butler; father, Rudolph V. Goodman; sister, Patricia Barron Palmer; and brothers, Leroy Barron and Billy Barron. She is survived by her husband, Maurice Lairy; son, Gregory Lairy, Sr. (Anntoinette); grandson, Gregory Lairy, Jr.; aunt, Irma Butler; uncles, Theoda Butler and Connell Butler (Verdine); siblings: Kathy Barron Jones, Larry Barron, Kayundro Martin, Rev. Dickie Goodman, Cassandra Jackson (John), Rudolph A. Goodman (Clarene), Cathy Jackson, Alice Culberson, William Goodman, Phyllis Goodman, and Susan Brown (Alfred); and a host of nieces, nephews-in-law, other relatives and friends. Wanda was a very loving and caring person whom life showed her love for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and her family. She worked for many years in health care at various agencies in central Arkansas. NLR Veterans Administration Hospital, Visiting Nurses of Arkansas, Arkansas Hospice Care and The Arkansas Municipal League. She was also a past member of the ESRD network 13 board for patient kidney health. Wanda never met a stranger and always offered encouragement to everyone. The family wishes to thank Dr. Michael L. Bierle and the staff at Nephrology Associates and the UAMS Hospital for their care. A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, July 15, 2016, 11 a.m. at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, 850 Atkinson Rhodes Street, North Little Rock, Ark. Interment will follow at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, 1501 Maryland Ave. NLR, Ark. Family visitation will be Thursday, July 14, 2016, 6-7 p.m. at Ruffin & Jarrett Funeral Home, 1200 South Chester St., LR, (501) 372-1305.
