Wynell J. Martin

WYNELL J. MARTIN, of North Little Rock, died on July 9, 2016 at the age of 87. She was born in 1929 in Conway, Ark. to Albert M. Jones and Lois Crow Jones. She was a loving wife, mother and sister who enjoyed laughing and spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of Gardner Methodist Church in North Little Rock for over 50 years. She worked for Amboy Elementary school and the Chancery Court of Pulaski County. After retirement, she continued to work as a volunteer for Baptist Hospital and St. Vincent Hospital rehabilitation. She also volunteered for the food pantry at Gardner Methodist until her health prevented further participation. She was a loyal friend and was active as a member of the Antique Wampus Cats (as a graduate of Conway High School). In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Robert L. Jones, of Conway and her husband, Samuel B. Martin. Survivors include her daughter, Deborah Martin Shorter of Eugene, Ore. and her husband, Richard Martin Shorter; and two sons, Samuel Bruce Martin of Florence, S.C. and his wife, Cynthia Green and Robert G. Martin of North Little Rock. She is also survived by a grandson, A. Scott White of Seattle, Wash.
