Linda Marie (Scott) McMillin

Linda Marie (Scott) McMillin, 70, died July 7, 2016 at Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville, Arkansas. She was born August 4, 1945 to Mary E. Phegley Scott and Clifford G. Scott in Jackson County, Mo. She lived much of her life in Grand View, Independence, Blue Springs and Kansas City, Mo. before moving to Mountain Home, Bentonville, Gravette and finally Bella Vista, Arkansas in 2014. She was an active member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Independence before transferring her membership to Bella Vista Lutheran Church in Bella Vista. She is survived by a son, Gregory Eugene McMillin of Blue Springs, Mo.; a grandson, Christian Lee White of Grain Valley, Mo. and a cousin, Carolyn Mayer of Surprise, Ariz. Linda was predeceased by her daughter, Lisa Marie White and her parents. Linda enjoyed cooking and watching food preparation TV programs. She also enjoyed teaching artificial flower arranging in her spare time. She loved to travel with her grandson, Chris, whom she adopted and raised after the premature death of his mother, Lisa, in February 1997. While living at Concordia Nursing Home in Bella Vista, Linda served as President of the Residents Organization. She was very appreciative to all who cared for her at Concordia, especially her loving nurse, Kim. According to her wishes, Linda's remains were donated to the Anatomical Gift Program at the University of Arkansas, College of Medicine. A memorial service will be held at a later date at Bella Vista Lutheran Church in Bella Vista, Arkansas. Contact the church office at 479-855-0272 to be notified of the service.
