Myra Belle Williams, age 79 of Fayetteville, Arkansas passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville on Friday, July 8, 2016. The daughter of George A. and Sylvia (Pack) Reeves was born May 14, 1937 in Roswell, New Mexico. Her father's military career took the family to several locations before they eventually settled in St. Joe, where Myra married Vernon L. Williams in 1953 and graduated with the Class of 1955. Myra and family spent several years in Northern California before returning to live in St. Joe and later, Western Grove. She retired from St. Joe Public Schools, where she served as secretary to the superintendent and district treasurer. She was a longtime member of Western Grove Bible Church until relocating to Fayetteville in 2008, where she joined Rolling Hills Baptist Church. Myra was a board member of the Arkansas Association of Educational Office Personnel (AAEOP) and received the organization's Martha Lou Davis Award in 2000 for 29 years of service. Myra was preceded in death by her husband and parents, two brothers, Ralph and Tim Reeves, and one sister, Wilma Mayhew. She is survived by her son, James Williams and wife, Kay, of Western Grove; her daughter, Sylvia Scott and John Knight of Fayetteville; two grandchildren, Randall Williams and wife, Amanda, of Russellville and Michelle Bradley and husband, Will, of Western Grove; four great-grandchildren, Julia Hill of Harrison, Deanna Bradley of Western Grove, Troy and Jake Williams, both of Russellville; many beloved nieces, nephews and in-laws, stepmother, Normareen Reeves of Pasco, Wash.; and hundreds of "adopted" former students and young adults. Myra loved Southern Gospel music and had strong connections to both her current and former church families. She wanted to be remembered as a Child of God and a kind and loving person, whose family was her all in all. Celebrations of Myra's life will be held on July 23 at Rolling Hills Baptist Church in Fayetteville and on July 30 at Western Grove Bible Church. Both will begin at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to: Rolling Hills Baptist Church, 1400 Rolling Hills Dr., Fayetteville, Ark. 72703 or Western Grove Bible Church, Hwy. 65S. & 65B, Western Grove, Ark. 72685.
