George Harvey Gray, Jr.

George Harvey Gray Jr., 92, passed away on July 12, 2016. He was married to his beloved wife, Velma, whom he met on VJ Day, proposed on that Halloween, and got married on that Thanksgiving. They were married for 62 Y2 years until her death in 2007. During WWII he was on a Flight Crew. He remained in the active Air Force for 28 years serving his country. During that time he was in aircraft maintenance and a Missile Launch Crew. After retiring he moved to Heber Springs and opened an appliance repair business. He retired at 84, but people still kept calling him, because he was so good at it and everyone trusted him. He is survived by his two children, Dennis Gray (wife: Shirley) of Benton and Martha Cobb (husband: Fred) of Arkadelphia, three grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, and three nieces and one nephew. He was a loving head of his family. He was very much loved and respected by family, friends, and anyone who got to know him. He will be greatly missed. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at Olmstead Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Cleburne County Memorial Gardens.
