Kimberly Beth Carter Griggs, 57, of Mooresville, passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at Gordon Hospice House, Statesville. She was born on December 2, 1958 in Little Rock, Arkansas, to Helen Johnson Carter and the late Gully Carter. In addition to her father, she is also preceded in death by a brother, Greg Carter. Kimberly was a Special Education Teacher for Iredell County Schools. Kim's passion was her family and the love and loyalty she showed others was a blessing to all who knew her. As a mother, she poured herself into caring for her children and grandchildren. As an educator, she was always an encourager and genuinely fought for the best interest of her students. Kim was a lover of animals especially her golden retrievers. Her favorite place was in her backyard planting flowers or listening to music alongside her best friend and husband of 35 years. Kim was also a talented painter and loved operating her monogramming business. She is deeply loved and will be forever missed. In addition to her mother Helen, she is survived by her loving husband, Franklin L. Griggs; children, Justin Griggs (Melissa) and Lindsey Fletcher (Ross); grandchildren, Wesley, Lilyan, Charlotte and Samuel Griggs, Tatum and Griggs Fletcher; niece, Natalie Martin. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, July 15 at 4 p.m. in the Heritage House of Cavin-Cook Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Devine officiating. Visitation will follow the service also at Heritage House. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Covenant Bible Church, P.O.
