Harold Ray Verser

Harold Ray Verser, a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, age 81 of Heber Springs passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Friday July 15, 2016. Harold was born Dec. 17, 1934 in Brownsville, Ark., to the late Lewis and Allie Brewer Verser. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Etta Pearl Verser Turney. Harold is survived by his wife of 58 years, June Ellen Hughes Verser; children, Kim (David) Ramsey, Greg (Tammy) Verser and Jennifer (Tommy) Thomas. Grandchildren, Derrek (Chelsea) Ramsey, Devin Ramsey, and Sarah Thomas. One Great-Grandchild, Daniel Ramsey. Harold was also blessed with bonus grandchildren, Meghan Ramsey, Rustin and Clint Hitchcock, and Branden and Christopher Thomas. Harold was a member of the Heber Springs Nazarene Church. Harold was a carpenter and farmer by trade. He had served on the Heber Springs City Council in the past. He was active in the Optimist Club where he coached, refereed, and umpired. Harold was a friend to many and always had a smile on his face. He will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Arkansas Hospice, Heber Springs Church of the Nazarene, or any organization of your choice. Visitation will be held at Olmstead Funeral Home on Sunday, July 17 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Olmstead Chapel on Monday, July 18 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Cleburne County Memorial Gardens.
