Sherry Robertson

Sherry Robertson, age 72, passed away on July 15, 2016 in Nashville, Tennessee. She was born in Paragould, Arkansas to Kenneth and Jean Scott. Sherry attended Paragould schools, Monticello Girls' School in Godfrey, Illinois, and graduated in the top of her LPN class from Jonesboro, Arkansas Area Vocational Technical School. She practiced nursing for 25 years, including 11 years as a medical-surgical nurse at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Nashville where she was a compassionate bedside nurse and life-long learner. Sherry spent summers at her Hardy, Arkansas cabin on the Spring River where she swam, canoed and raised her girls. She was known for her quick wit, dry humor and lively political discussions. She is survived by her daughters, Lori Robertson (Bill Bonnette) of Nashville and Ashley Robertson of Hardy; grandchildren, Keely Robertson and Thomas Robertson of Hardy; sister, Patti Scott (Jay Deshpande) of Little Rock; nephews, Neel Deshpande (Terra) of Nashville, Shyam Deshpande of Boston, and Marquis Summers of Denver; sister-in-law, Kappu Deshpande of Nashville; and dear friend Bob Robertson (Suzanne) of Fairfield Bay. The family will hold a private service in Hardy and asks that friends and family consider honoring Sherry with donations to Save our Spring River, Inc. in Hardy, The Nature Conservancy, The American Lung Association, Vanderbilt University Medical Center, or Alive Hospice. The family thanks Dr. Sandra Moutsios for her years of excellent care, and for her insight and support. The family also thanks Vanderbilt nurses, physicians, staff, and trainees and Alive Hospice staff for their skilled and loving care.
