Mazie Ketner was called home by her heavenly Father on July 19, 2016 while in Baptist Hospital and a resident at the Chenal Rehab and Healthcare facility in Little Rock. She was born September 14, 1919 to David and Ida McDaniel in Ben Hill County, Georgia. In May, she was recognized as the oldest living member (96) of her church, New Zion Baptist Church. Her life was characterized by loving her Lord, serving Him and others. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Ketner; two infant children; her parents; three sisters; and seven brothers. She leaves two children, David Earl Ketner of Lakeland, Florida and Julia Ketner of Little Rock, Arkansas; one brother, Jack McDaniel of Hampton, Florida; two grandchildren, Ashley Webb of Lakeland, Florida and Linsey Forlow of Port Charlotte, Florida; and six great-grandchildren, Isaac Webb, Katie, Sarah, Luke, Emma, and Addie Forlow. The family would like to extend a special thanks for the care that was given Mrs. Ketner while she resided at Chenal Rehab and Healthcare Facility in Little Rock for the past 20 months. Memorials may be made to the WMU Foundation, 100 Missionary Ridge, Birmingham, Ala. 35242, designated for the Arkansas WMU Touch Tomorrow Today Endowment.
