Julia Ann Bailey

Julia Ann Bailey has crossed over the river, and is now resting under the shade of the trees, with her mother, Betsy Jean Rainwater Bailey (later Benton), and her father, Robert Jackson Bailey, and a whole host of her friends and family, including that of Thomas Jonathan Jackson, also known as Stonewall Jackson, whose last gasp, the river analogy, Julie accredits. She was born December 17, 1957, in El Dorado, Arkansas, the youngest of four children to her parents' union, but most of her life she resided in Little Rock. She was a graduate of Little Rock Central High School, Class of 1976, and she accumulated scores of hours towards a bachelor's degree from UALR where she excelled as a student of history with a special interest then, and lifelong affinity for, Arkansas History. Julie did not divine or pine or opine marriage (although there were suitors aplenty); she saw her duty as one marching for mother, father, and survivors, brothers, Rok, Brad, and Matt, niece, Ilia Bailey McNeil, and another whole host. She served as an office manager for her father's architectural and engineering offices for twenty-two years while also working then full-time as a legal assistant for several of the most prestigious firms in the state, and later as a curator and interpretive guide for the Ark. Dept. of Parks & Tourism at the Plantation Agricultural Museum, Scott, and then as a docent for the City of Little Rock at the Oakland & Fraternal Historic Cemetery Park. She died peacefully July 15, 2016, under the collective compassionate care of UAMS, St. Vincent's Infirmary, Conway Regional Medical Center, Arkansas Hospice, and especially that of St. Andrews Place, Conway. Julie also wanted acknowledged her rigorous and vigorous healthcare advocacy by Dr. Denise Rivkees and Signatura Natural State Pharmacy and their uncommon kindness. A private sunrise internment of her ashes at her father's Oakland gravesite is in the near offing with a celebration of her life to be announced soon. Services entrusted to Arkansas Cremation.
