Curtis Brown

CURTIS BROWN, 90, of Little Rock, passed from this life on Friday, July 22, 2016. He was born on May 15, 1926 in Webster County, Miss. to the late Delbert and Courtney Brown. Curtis is a veteran of the U.S. Navy and is the former owner of Harlow's Donut Shop and Brown's Stop & Shop in Jonesboro. He was a hardworking man and a great provider for his family. Curtis loved football, especially his Arkansas State "Indians". In addition to his parents, Curtis is preceded in death by his brothers: Otis Brown, Billy Brown, and Hubert Brown; and sister, Ruby Clark. Curtis is survived by his wife of 63 years, Kathryn Brown of Little Rock; daughter, Phyllis Edwards (Mark) of Little Rock; sister-in-law, Maureen Brown of DeFuniak Springs, Fla.; granddaughter, Kate Edwards; and nieces: Sandy Bregenzer, Courtney Clark, Riley Clark and Kim Clark. A funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at Emerson Funeral home in Jonesboro with Chaplin Jim Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery with the active pallbearers being Dan Buckley, Dennis Zolper, Tim Keane, Mark Edwards, and John Booten.
