Kenneth Dale "Kenny" Young Sr.

Kenneth Dale "Kenny" Young Sr., age 76, of Fayetteville, passed away Sunday, July 24, 2016 in Fayetteville. He was born December 25, 1939 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, the son of Columbus Otto Young and Vera E. Smith Young. He was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother Elsie Young and a brother, Pete Young. He was a shipping manager for Packing Specialities, retiring after 34 years. He was a member of Fayetteville First Christian Church as well as a lifelong member of the Elks Lodge, Fayetteville Jaycees and active member of the Saturday Morning Breakfast Club. He was involved in Fayetteville Youth Baseball and was a high school football referee. He is survived by his wife, Betty Young; his children, Ken Young Jr. of Fayetteville, Stephen Young of Columbus, Ohio, Melissa Ann Young of Fayetteville, Mike Simpson of Duncanville, Texas, Mitchell Simpson of Fayetteville, Tyler Simpson of Hot Springs, Misty Simpson of Fayetteville; three sisters, Patricia Callahan of North Little Rock, Gale Berner of Wilsonville, Oregon and Judy Young of Kansas City; 12 grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and first wife, Carol Young. A casual memorial service will be held 10 a.m., Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at Vesper Point at Mount Sequoyah in Fayetteville, officiated by Reverend Ray Niblock under the direction of Moore's Chapel.
