Gerald Edward Wilson

Gerald Edward Wilson, 77, of Benton, went to be with his Lord and Savior on July 26, 2016. He passed away at home surrounded by his family. Gerald was born August 5, 1938 in Benton, Arkansas to the late Phillip and Irene Wilson. He was a member of the Church of God and retired owner of Gerald Wilson Automotive. His favorite pastimes were traveling, serving in church and spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James "Curly" Wilson and granddaughter, Autumn Angel Wilson. Gerald is survived by his wife of 59 years, Doris Hunsaker Wilson, sons, Jerry Wilson (Shelley) of Magness and Barry Wilson (Carla) of Jacksonville, Florida; five grandchildren, Brittney Shinn (Michael) of Benton, Amanda Tipton (Taylor) of Conway, Rebecca Wilson of Jacksonville, Florida, Brendan Wilson of Benton and Alison Wilson of Jonesboro; great-grandsons, Carter and Cameron Shinn both of Benton, sister, Phyllis Humphreys of Benton, brother, Raymond Wilson (Nita) of Hot Springs; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Chapel services by Ashby Funeral Home will be 10 a.m. Friday with Bro. Edward Gregory officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Crest Cemetery. Visitation will be at Ashby Funeral Home, Thursday, 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Parkinson's or Dementia Organizations: American Parkinson Disease Association (www.apdaparkinson.org) or Lewy Body Dementia Association (www.lbda.org).
