Harrison Sims West

Harrison Sims West, 94 of Sherwood, passed away July 26, 2016. He was born to William and Susie West on August 29, 1921 in Aubrey, Arkansas. He was a WWII Navy veteran and served aboard the U.S.S. Chester. He was a dedicated member of local union 295 of the IBEW for 74 years and served as Business Manager and International Representative for the organization. He was a member of Sylvan Hills First Baptist Church for 57 years. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Peggy Neal West; his sister, Agnes Baker, and his brother, J.B. West. He is survived by his sister, Mabel West Caster; his four daughters; Linda West Henderson (Jim), Sandra West Kindrick (Mike), Tracy West Hammons (Dick), Ann West Walker (Bob). He was the adored PaPa of Kristin Adams, Westly Henderson, Amy Key, Clayton Kindrick, Austin Hammons, Elizabeth Hammons, Ashley Krieg, and John David Walker. He is the great-grandfather of Harrison Hale Adams, Mia Catherine Key, Georgia Camille Key, Avery Rebecca Krieg, and Anna Cate Krieg. Visitation will be held at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home on Friday, July 29, 2016 from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Sylvan Hills First Baptist Church on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at 10 a.m. Burial to follow immediately at Rest Hills Memorial Park.
