John Steven Thornton

John Steven Thornton died July 25, 2016. Born April 5, 1954 to Willard and Bobby Thornton. Survivors include wife Cynthia Thornton, brothers Tom (Karen) Thornton, Jim Thornton, Joe (Jennifer) Thornton and numerous nieces, nephews. John attended Mt. Ida High School and graduated from Southeastern Oklahoma State University and got his graduate degree from Norwich University. He was a retired Therapist and most recently worked at Memorial Hospital in York, Pennsylvania where he and his wife lived before retiring to Hot Springs. John was a member of First Baptist Church. One of the Sons of Confederate Veterans he loved anything related to the Civil War. He loved fishing and almost all sports. He had numerous pets and will be missed by them and all his friends and relatives and most especially by Cynthia, his wife of 31 years. There will be a private memorial service at a later date.
