Geraldine Steed

Geraldine Steed, of Malvern, went to be with her Savior and heavenly family July 27, 2016. An angel to her family here on earth, now has her angel wings in heaven. Born in Arkadelphia, Arkansas to the late Ernest and Lola Mae Cagle she ventured out to Alaska and Germany before returning to Malvern, where she taught first grade at Malvern Public Schools for 32 years, retiring with over 50 years as an educator. She had a love for the outdoors which showed in her beautiful flower gardens, and was a big fan of the Arkansas Razorbacks. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and spent many hours volunteering at the Clothes Closet. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by brother, John Howard Cagle. Left to cherish her memories: sisters, Margie Pye and Carolyn Beene (Allen) of Malvern; nephews, Lynn (Debbie) Pye and Dustin Beene; nieces, Melissa (Milton) Franklin, Angie (Kevin) Whitley and Amanda (Lindsay) Roberts whom she treated as her own children; 10 great-nieces and nephews, Mindy, Jason, Bobby, Noah, Addison, Terry, Brian, Isaac, Mariah and Rose; former students and teachers, friends, church family and special caretaker, Joyce Loyd. Visitation will be Saturday, July 30 from 1-3 p.m. at Regency Funeral Home. Graveside Services will be Saturday, July 30 at 4 p.m. at Copeland Ridge Cemetery in Curtis, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be Dustin Beene, Isaac Whitley, Jason Pye, Bobby Pye, Terry Franklin and Brian Franklin. Honorary Pallbearers are Lynn Pye, Milton Franklin, Kevin Whitley and Lindsay Roberts. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Calvary Baptist Church Malvern or Copeland Ridge Cemetery, 560 Shakertown Rd. Arkadelphia, Ark. 71923. Arrangements are by Regency Funeral Home.
