Jerry Lynn Ridgway, 77, of Cabot died Monday, May 30, 2016. He was born February 11, 1939 in Star City to the late Norman Lynn and Clara Lee Cook Ridgway. He was a 1957 graduate of Pine Bluff High School. Mr. Ridgway was a member of Cabot United Methodist Church where he was choir director for 20 years. From 1964 to 1972 he was band and choir director at Palacious, Texas and Cabot High Schools as well as a member of the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra from 1966 to 1986. Mr. Ridgway was Cabot Chamber of Commerce's Man of the Year in 1971 and owned Furlow Grocery for 16 years. In retirement, he enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, drawing, gardening and bird watching. In addition to his parents, Mr. Ridgway was preceded in death by his wife, Constance "Connie" Anne Ridgway, daughter, Sherri Ridgway and sister, Barbara McIntire. Mr. Ridgway is survived by his son; Michael Ridgway of Cabot, daughter; JoAnna Ridgway Hefner of Newport, sister; Norma Ray and brother; Dale Ridgway, both of Pine Bluff, five grandchildren; Hunter Stivers, Tracy Hart, McKala Barnett, Cathy Langlois and Rebecca Davis, nine great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Memorial gifts may be made in Mr. Ridgway's name to the Cabot High School Band Scholarship Fund, 401 N. Lincoln Street, Cabot, Ark. 72023. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, June 3, 2016 at Cabot United Methodist Church with burial at Mount Carmel Cemetery.
