Leonard Enoch Truitt

Leonard Enoch Truitt, 98 year old resident of Decatur, Arkansas, died May 31, 2016 at Circle of Life, Springdale, Arkansas. Born September 28, 1917 in Decatur, he was the son of Joel E. Truitt and Annie Laura (Wilmoth) Truitt. Leonard was a lifelong resident of Decatur and graduated from Decatur High School. He married Irene Loux on December 24, 1937 in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. Leonard worked for the Benton County Road Department, before going to work for the United States Postal Service for many years. After retirement from the United States Postal Service, Leonard went to work at Peterson Industries/Simmons Foods Inc., retiring only recently. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Decatur and attended First United Methodist Church in Decatur. He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene; one son, Joel E. Truitt; and three siblings, Ruby, Charlie and Mae. He is survived by one daughter, Kay Hoggard and husband Gene of Plano, Texas; one son, Glen Truitt and wife Jane of Tontitown, Arkansas; one daughter-in-law, Sue Truitt of Siloam Springs; five grandsons: Shane Hoggard and wife Karen; Brad Truitt and wife Ann; Scott Truitt; Bryan Truitt and wife Stephanie; Tracy Truitt and wife Tonya; five great granddaughters: Kate and Amy; Trinity and Tori; and Kaydyn Truitt; two step-great-grandsons, Parker and Austin Baldwin; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be 6 p.m., Thursday, June 2, 2016 at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, with Chaplain Frank Crosby officiating. The family will have a private burial at Falling Springs Cemetery, Decatur.
