Jane Carnathan

Jane "Miss Jane" Carnathan passed from this life, Wednesday morning, June 1, 2016 at her home on Greers Ferry Lake. Born December 14, 1924 in Georgetown, Miss. She moved to West Helena, Ark. as a young teen and later married Robert L. "Pete" Carnathan on May 5, 1942. They built their home and raised their family in West Helena until 1975 when they moved to Greers Ferry Lake, where they enjoyed retirement. Jane is preceded in death by her husband, Pete (1987) and son Gary (2009). Also a niece Marie Walters and nephew Billy Hudson. Jane is survived by a son, Dr. ALan B. (A.B.) Carnathan and daughter-in-law, Susan, Gary's sons, Drake Carnathan, Eatonville, Wash., Jason Carnathan, Midland, Ark. and five great-grandchildren, Hunter, Hailey, Alex, Nicholas and Jaiden. Also Susan's nephews, Geo and Juan Perales, Fayetteville, Ark. Also survived by nephews, Gene Hudson, Pine Bluff, Ark. and Gere and Bill Carnathan of West Helena, Ark., nieces, Joyce McDaniel, Tuscon, Ariz., Anna Spengler, Boise, Idaho, Pat Hudson, Carlsbad, Calif. and Gayle Herst, Hot Springs, Ark., as well as other great-nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends. A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. on June 4th at Olmstead FUneral Home with visitation to follow.
