Robert Lee Hartley

Robert Lee Hartley, 78 year old resident of Aurora, Colorado and longtime resident of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, died June 1, 2016 at Garden Terrace of Aurora. Born March 13, 1938 in Siloam Springs, he was the son of Cecil C. Hartley and Ollie Bernice (Carpenter) Hartley. He graduated from Siloam Springs High School in 1956. Robert married his high school sweetheart, Ellen Marie Holcomb on November 17, 1956 in Siloam Springs. He earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Religion from Southern Nazarene University in 1976. He was a retired minister of the Mid America Conference of the Free Methodist Church. Robert also earned a certificate in Hospital Administration from Oklahoma Baptist University. He retired from Deaconess Hospital in Oklahoma City after over 30 years of service, mostly as Assistant Administrator. He served on the boards of Butterfield Memorial Foundation in Oklahoma City, Central Christian College Board, and the Siloam Springs Planning Commission. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil C. Hartley and Bernice Hartley Gilbert; and two brothers, Herb H. Hartley and James Hartley. He is survived by his wife, Ellen Hartley of the home; three children, Brian Hartley and wife Darlene of Greenville, Illinois, Robert Hartley, Jr. and wife Sue of Apple Valley, Minnesota, and Penny Hagerman and husband Allen of Aurora, Colorado. Robert is also survived by five granddaughters, Emily, Evangeline, Erin, Amber and Kristen; and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Monday, June 6, 2016 at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, with Rev. Robert Holcomb officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Siloam Springs.
