Mary Ann Farris

Mary Ann Mickel Farris, 80, of Conway, Ark., formerly of Clarksville, Ark., passed away Sunday, May 29, 2016. Born May 2, 1936 in Clarksville, Ark., to Rheual Wesley Mickel and Lillian Estes Eichenberger Mickel. A graduate of Clarksville High School, College of the Ozarks (U of O), Baptist School of Nursing in Little Rock, retired RN, nursing home owner/co-administrator/director of nurses for Mickel Nursing Home, Mickel Infant Infirmary, and Mary Ann Corporation. Member of the First United Methodist Church, Grace Circle, volunteer and board member of Mustard Seed Ministries, and United Methodist Women, OES #172, DAR, and UDC. She was past president and vice-president and life-time member of the Johnson County Historical Society. And she was also an avid fan and supporter of the Vipers Basketball Organization in Conway. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband of 55 years, Robert Edmond Farris Jr. She is survived by a son, Wesley Farris and wife, Shelli, of Clarksville, Ark.; a daughter, Martha Thomason and husband, Dr. Dana, of Russellville, Ark.; grandchildren and spouses: Lindy Massengale of Russellville; Angie and Boris Scott of Conway; Ricky L. Massengale Jr. and Chasity of Fort Smith; Roberta and Doug Duling of Elkins; Jonathan and Vanessa Thomason of Alexandria, Virginia; Chad Rivers of Clarksville; Joey Galmeche of Mobile, Alabama, and 10 great-grandchildren: Satera, Kaia, and Karis Scott of Conway; Caden and Lexus Frazier of Conway; Jaxon, Gavin, and Kinley Massengale of Fort Smith; Kimberlyn and Hannah Duling of Elkins; a brother-in-law, Lynn Farris and Johnnie Bess of Sherwood, Ark.; a nephew, David Farris of Fayetteville, Ark.; and numerous friends and relatives. Graveside Memorial Service to be held at a later date. Memorial Contributions may be made to Johnson County Historical Society and Heritage Museum: 131 W. Main Street, Clarksville, Ark. 72830.
